Our Mission
SAFE Samford is a group of students, alumni, faculty, and staff of Samford University working together to ensure that all LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning) members of the Samford community feel safe, welcomed, affirmed, and loved. We provide a space for them and their allies to ask questions, express their thoughts, and seek counsel and resources without fear of reprisal. We encourage constructive dialogue on issues related to sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, and faith. Accordingly, we strive to develop and enact practical strategies to promote and secure equal rights for LGBTQ individuals and their supporters at Samford.
